Strengthening Collaboration and Innovation: EXCELLERAT P2 All-Hands Meeting in Ljubljana

On May 6–7, 2025, the EXCELLERAT P2 consortium convened in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for its first All-Hands Meeting of the year. Hosted at City Hotel Ljubljana, the event gathered experts from across Europe to discuss the latest developments in high-performance computing (HPC), assess project milestones, and plan future collaboration.
The two-day meeting began with status updates from key work packages including project management, use-case execution, and workflow development. Highlights included detailed presentations on the progress of EXCELLERAT’s reference applications and emerging insights into Exa-HPC methodologies and CI/CD integration. A dedicated session on the EXCELLERAT Service Portal also showcased real-world examples of HPC tools and applications, including OpenFOAM GPU porting and the NeoFOAM library benchmark.
Parallel to the main discussions, participants recorded selected statements for future success story videos to broaden outreach. The first day concluded with a guided city tour and dinner at the traditional Slovenian restaurant Gostilna Sokol, reinforcing the project’s spirit of community.

Day two shifted focus to market context, industry collaboration, and impact creation. Key sessions explored the EuroHPC platforms for Centres of Excellence, as well as the new European Experts Booster Service, which supports the commercialisation of Key Exploitable Results (KERs).
The Ljubljana meeting reaffirmed EXCELLERAT P2’s commitment to scientific excellence, service integration, and collaboration across academia and industry. It provided an essential platform for knowledge exchange and strategic planning as the project advances into its next phase.
